Wouldn't this be nice!

Melbourne is in the middle of a heatwave. 5 days straight of temps around 40 degrees or higher which is just about unheard of. We usually get 1 or 2 days and then it's back to the woolly jumpers! How nice to be a penguin in the new Antartic display at Melbourne Aquarium where it's a chilly -10 degrees (or something like that) and they even have a snow machine. The King Penguins are really something - they just love to pose for the cameras and the Gentoos, when not diving and splashing around in their pool (an activity which seems to be beneath the Kings!) waddle around all day following the visitors to get a better look at them! Any ex-pat UK'ers out there, they are also selling Penguin biscuits in the aquarium cafes!

Who picks the word verification letters on blogger? Today I have to type in (I swear this is true) "depoxing" to post this

LOL! I know, today my word is supor. You used to just get scrambled up letters. I keep thinking we should have a GNI challenge of coming up with definitions of the words!

OOOOO Gail ... Penguins are my favourite animals and I have them in ceramic, swarovski crystal, a Pandora bead and a variety of plush ones too. Might have to make the effort to get to the aquarium next time we are there.

Hey Leonie,

You would love it! They are gorgeous and love the people. DD won 2 huge stuffed penguins on a family day we went to - she should't have got 2 but according to her she won them both fair and square!
