NEW TABLE!!!

Today my new stamping err, I mean dining table arrived! I had been coveting a bigger, square table for ages but as there was nothing wrong with our existing table, plus had nowhere to put it, I couldn't justify getting a new one. I could manage things with the stamp club and classes, dragging out a trestle for larger groups, but after having only 4 friends over to stamp last Saturday night and none of us having much room I decided enough was enough and went about working out how I could fit in a bigger table. I ended up moving my craft desk into my son's room (after all he will need one for homework for highschool next year ;-), then the existing dining table went into my craft area, leaving room for the new dining table yay! So I also now have a bigger official stamping desk too, although the extra space on that is soon getting taken up! DH bought our old table from an antiques place in Perth and it never was a proper 6 seater, just a bit too short and narrow. We ended up buying 6 chairs for it about 8 years ago but now I need another 2 and the chairs are no longer available :-( Every furniture shop I've shown them too has told me they remembered them though. Fingers crossed, one shop I went into the other day is pretty sure he will be able to get me something similar. We are lucky that the colour of the chairs matches the new table perfectly.

Cool! When's the table warming?

Soon!!! School Holidays?? Except you are not allowed to bring anything that involves paint :-P

No worries, I have a project in mind - it involves a heat tool, setting eyelets with a hammer, and, umm, lots of varnish. Ooo, and paint thinner.

Hmm, well being "recycled timber" there are a couple of spots that might need a touch up....but perhaps we'll leave your project for next time we go to your house *g*

Gail, I used to think you were really hard working, always updating your blog after midnight. Now I think your computer's clock is out. Better go check it, it's lying about you.

I've already sanded and varnished my table once, and I'm prepared to do it again too!

What?? I am hardworking and it usually is after midnight when I update the blog but I know what you mean about the odd times. The computer clock is fine, I think the blogger clock works in US time.

Worked it out :-) I was in US Pacific time. I didn't even notice that when I set it up. Thanks for pointing it out and you are sure to see some after midnight posts! Another friend once asked me how did I stay up until 3.30am updating my blog lol! Funny thing is that she is usually still up at that time too!
